Hong Kong’s 2019 Holiday Schedule
Workers in Hong Kong will enjoy 17 public holidays in 2019, including six long weekends.
Public holidays in Hong Kong are a combination of traditional Chinese festivals, important Western holidays, and local celebrations.
Chinese New Year is the longest holiday in Hong Kong, as workers will enjoy three consecutive days off in early February. Combined with standard weekend days off, many workers will also receive four consecutive days off during Easter Weekend. The only months with no statutory holidays in 2019 are August, November, and December.
In addition to official public holidays, private companies in Hong Kong have the right to determine their own schedules and grant extra holidays to their staff.
