Shenzhen Raises Minimum Wage
Jun. 10 – The Shenzhen municipal government has raised the monthly minimum wage in the city to RMB1,100 effective from July 1.
The notice, which was issued June 8 at the government executive meeting, standardizes the monthly minimum wage level across the city. The minimum monthly wage in Luohu, Futian, Yantian and Hanshan district has increased by 10 percent, and Baoan, Longgang, Pingshan and Guangming district has increased by 22.2 percent.
The part-time hourly minimum wage was raised from RMB8.8 to RMB9.8 from previously RMB8.8. The part-time hourly minimum wage level in Luohu, Futian, Yantian and Nanshan districts has increased by 11.4 percent, and in Baoan, Longgang, Pingshan and Guangming districts has increased by 22.5 percent.
Similarly, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Foshan and other districts have also raised the monthly minimum wage levels from May 1. Guangzhou has raised the minimum month wage to RMB1,030 and the part-time hourly minimum wage to RMB9.9.
